Tile of Spain 2013 Cevisama Tour Group

Tile of Spain is back from our trip across the Atlantic to Cevisama, the International Ceramic Tile Fair, held at the Feria Valencia in Spain. We were pleased to bring our Passport to Creativity contest winners on the trip. During the course of the 4 day show we were able to see just a sampling of the nearly 700 tile exhibitors at the show.

One of the tile trends we saw exhibited in full force was the look of reclaimed wood. Spanish tile makers have once again pushed the envelope on wood looks evolving the trend from wood looks into reclaimed wood territory.

Reclaimed wood looking tile provides nature’s weather worn appearance to surfaces, but with the durability to keep them looking that way indefinitely.

The Aparici Sonar collection blends the warmth of wood and the contemporary feel of cement to create a cutting-edge style.

Bright colors and graffiti styles, like in the Tau Grafiti series and Vives Faro series seen below, have been integrated – transitioning the wood look from a warm Maine boat slip to something completely unique and trendsetting.
